NRG lawyers is an organisation thar aims to pave the way for non-Russell Group students and graduates in their legal careers, through guidance, support, and advocating for the people at the top to enact real change in the industry.
We believe talent has no postcode. That’s why we’re committed to opening doors for non-Russell Group students and graduates, creating real pathways into a legal career through scholarships, work experience, and international opportunities.
The Problem
Every year thousands of law students graduate from Law school in the UK, and a huge proportion of them are from non-Russell Group universities. Often these students are perceived as being less qualified than their Russell Group peers, meaning the law profession misses out on a huge proportion of the emerging fresh talent each year.
Our vision
Is to visibly change the legal landscape by breaking barriers for NRG Lawyers.
Grads School
Only 9% of trainee solicitors in city law firms are non-Russell group graduates, with just 24% in national and regional firms.
Law School
Whereas a majority 76.5% of trainees at leading 130+ firms are Oxbridge and Russell Group graduates.
